Job Description

As a Tool Design Engineer at Michael Page, you will be responsible for designing and developing press tool and fixture designs, and implementing improvements to manufacturing and assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design single, multi-stage, and progression press tooling
  • Investigate and undertake analysis on how to improve existing press tooling or components
  • Prepare design solutions, including CAD models, detailed drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and related documentation
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes, research, and develop solutions to increase efficiency, reduce downtime, waste, and scrap
  • Ensure consistent repeatable processes and product quality
  • Provide manufacturing support and information for all processes
  • Generate and maintain product and process data and training
Requirements
  • Recent experience, at least 3+ years in a Press Tooling Design Engineer role
  • Degree/HND/HNC in a related field (Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering)
  • Proficient user of CREO or SOLIDWORKS 3D (CREO Parametric preferred)
  • Able to design pneumatic circuit schematics
  • Knowledge and experience of material selection
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products
