Job Title: Business Systems Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team at Outsourced Professional Administration Limited (OPAL). As a Business Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements
  • Facilitate discussions among stakeholders to document solutions and requirements
  • Conduct research and analysis to understand business operations, including people, processes, information, data, and technology
  • Use data modeling practices to analyze findings and create suggestions for strategic and operational improvements
  • Consider opportunities and potential risks associated with suggestions
  • Produce written documentation and solution designs to support work, report on findings, and present to stakeholders
  • Ensure plans are made and processes created to evaluate the impact of changes, including overseeing and reporting on evaluation
  • Attend workshops with clients for requirements gathering and concept design
  • Be flexible and proactive in gathering and processing requirements to ensure objectives are met
  • Prioritize and meet business demands
  • Work closely with IT and other departments to ensure technical specifications are detailed and accurately reflect new/enhanced services
  • Assist the IT Project Team with implementation management and operational readiness
  • Define business problems and project objectives in line with commercial propositions
  • Lead and support cross-functional business process re-engineering activities and continuous methodology improvement efforts
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and other SMEs to establish technical visions
  • Complete CR solutions, impact and risk assessments, procedure and technical documentation, and business case reports
  • Create solution documentation and wireframes as needed
  • Develop training literature and materials
  • Assist with acceptance and integration testing and develop project plans with the IT Project Team
  • Understand and have experience working with different methodologies, such as agile and waterfall
  • Create and update change documentation, business requirements documents, functional and non-functional requirements, and map out phases of development
  • Take on project coordination where required and support the full project lifecycle
  • Adhere to all measures within the ISO27001 standard, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability
  • Work in accordance with OPAL's Consumer Duty policies and practices
Essential Knowledge and Experience:
  • Business analysis, requirements gathering, and design techniques
  • Change management and implementation management techniques and approaches
  • Experience in IT software delivery and change
  • Experience creating Business Requirements Documents, Functional and Non-Functional Requirements, Requirement Traceability Matrix, Use Case Diagrams, Wireframes, Mock-ups, and Change Request Documents
  • Understanding of the Financial Services Industry, particularly in Protection and Investments, Regulations, and market conditions
  • Ability to work in a pressurized and fast-moving environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to achieve deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to change with a flexible approach
  • Proactive in driving business efficiencies and enhancements
  • Problem-solving, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to take preventive rather than corrective action
Additional Knowledge Required to Become Fully Competent:
  • Excellent knowledge of Protection and Investment products
  • End-to-end knowledge of our administration and software systems
  • Understanding and application of the ISO27001 standard
  • Understanding of the Pandora Software and abilities with proven competency and knowledge in the use of the Pandora software as both a front-facing user and back-office user
  • Ability to 'T-shirt' size projects independently and quickly
  • Ability to communicate and articulate to our new and existing clients around OPAL's system functionality mainly within the Pandora SaaS solution and all other services we can provide
  • Ability to undertake accurate and timely reports to senior members of the IT Department
  • Understanding of the relationships between Pandora, OPAL, and the client
  • Excellent written communication and proven ability to provide business case reports based on our Pandora software and business solutions
Process Complexity:
  • Ensuring up-to-date knowledge of systems, software, procedures, regulatory, and other areas of working practices commensurate with the role
  • Ability to disseminate technical knowledge to colleagues and clients
Output Responsibility:
  • Establish excellent client relationships
  • Input across the whole development and project lifecycle
