Kier Professional Services (KPS) operates as the engineering consultancy branch of Kier Group, delivering innovative design solutions, expert technical guidance, and comprehensive engineering support across various sectors.
With a portfolio that includes over 2,000 designs annually for more than 400 projects, we stand as one of the leading Temporary Works designers in the UK. Our team of over 100 Temporary Works engineers possesses extensive expertise in both designing and verifying Temporary Works for projects of varying scales.

Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Structural Engineer at KPS, you will collaborate closely with project teams to facilitate the delivery of a wide range of civil and structural services, encompassing both Temporary and Permanent Works. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the provision of safe and constructible solutions.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Designing and verifying Temporary Works, both above and below ground, utilizing various materials while integrating with Permanent Works design as necessary.
- Providing alternative solutions and value engineering to enhance our reputation.
- Supporting tender stages and bids with a focus on buildability, efficiency, and innovation.
- Conducting technical assessments and reviews of third-party designs to ensure compliance with project briefs and client requirements.
- Mentoring and managing junior staff within KPS.
Candidate Profile
This position is ideal for you if:
- You are a Chartered Engineer or are pursuing Chartered status.
- You possess a keen interest in Temporary Works Design or have relevant experience.
- You hold a valid UK driving license.
