Job Title: UK Financial Accountant - Associate
Division: UK Entity Finance
Location: London
Role Overview
This position is for a talented financial accountant within Rothschild's UK Entity Finance team whose principal responsibilities are financial, regulatory, and management accounting for N. M. Rothschild & Sons Limited (NMR) and a number of UK subsidiary companies.
This role involves a wide range of responsibilities from financial reporting and accounts production through to management reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, and supporting our business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Group reporting for NMR and lead on reporting for other UK group companies, including analysing and agreeing intra-group and company transactions.
- Prepare the monthly/quarterly management accounts, including commentary, for various subsidiaries and provide support to senior management.
- Responsibility for UK property accounting, including analysis for senior management and the business.
- Responsible for the preparation of the annual financial statements for various UK subsidiaries and assisting with NMR's annual financial statements.
- Liaise with taxation manager to estimate tax provisions and provide information for preparation of corporation tax returns.
- Responsible for the control and reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in the maintenance of accounting policies to ensure that any changes in accounting standards are analysed and reflected.
- Work on various projects to improve our procedures and financial and management reporting.
Requirements
- Newly qualified ACA/ACCA (up to 1 year post qualified) with good academic record and excellent analytical skills.
- Financial reporting experience with a thorough knowledge of IFRS and the ability to understand, analyse, and present complex subjects and conclusions.
- Financial services experience preferable.
- Excellent organisational skills with experience of managing time to deliver on a number of projects concurrently.
- Able to communicate and interact with a wide range of stakeholders within Rothschild's global finance function, tax, company secretary, business management, auditors.
- Good knowledge of all Microsoft products (especially Excel, PowerPoint), experience of SAP GL and SAPFC would be beneficial.
