We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Fertility Nurse/Midwife to join our team at The Evewell. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, information counselling, treatment, and dispensing and the administration of drugs.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care and Support
- Manage telephone and email enquiries in a professional manner, ensuring that all information given is up-to-date and accurate
- Ensure all offered treatment, advice, treatment cycles and outcomes are recorded in line with current HFEA guidelines, requirements and SOPs
- Possess a working knowledge of patients' drug regimes and treatment plans
- Treatment Coordination
- Co-ordinate treatment cycle plans and teach patients to self-administer fertility drugs
- Obtain informed consent from patients within HFEA code of practice through nurse consultations
- Inform patients about implications of treatment and provide information and support throughout treatment cycle
- Procedure Support
- Assist with ultrasound scanning (following adequate training)
- Prepare procedure room for egg collection, embryo transfer, insertion of IUCD, cervical dilatation, surgical sperm retrieval and gynaecological procedures
- Scrub and circulate in the procedure room, assist as necessary
- General Duties
- Admit, discharge and escort patients to and from reception to the recovery area
- Ensure that patients are comfortable following procedures
- Scan patients when undergoing embryo transfer following adequate training
- Provide cover for ill health or emergencies for other nursing staff
- 6 months experience in Fertility Nursing
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, empathy for others, and attention to detail
- Computer literate and competent in using appointment and billing systems, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Capable of understanding and adhering to processes and protocols
- Confident, with clear communication and a real focus on providing outstanding clinical care to patients
- Organised with the ability to prioritise and manage their workload
- Versatile and flexible, possess excellent attention-to-detail and be able to work accurately and efficiently in a pressured environment
- Able to work collaboratively with the various teams at all levels across the clinic
This is a clinical role which must be undertaken on-site. There will be no opportunity for remote/home working.
The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week, 10 hours per day, 4 days per week, 8am to 6pm, on-call phone rota and 1:3 weekend rota paid as overtime.
