Job Title: Commercial Contract Legal Advisor

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Advisor with a proven track record in the offshore oil and gas sector to work on a contract basis for a major EPC client.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Review and qualify or draft various types of contracts, including EPC, transportation, and installation contracts, as well as associated confidentiality agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
  2. Manage the workload in coordination with Tendering/Commercial, Project Management, and Procurement functions, collecting inputs from other functions, including Insurance, Tax, and Finance.
  3. Prepare Contract Summaries on a tender/project-specific basis.
  4. Advise Company and Corporate Management on main contractual risks, identifying and proposing contractual mitigation actions.
  5. Participate in meetings with internal clients, external clients, partners, and subcontractors, negotiating, taking notes, and preparing summaries and/or Minutes of Meeting.
  6. Negotiate contractual instruments with counterparties in the best interests of the Company and in accordance with Company risk policies.
  7. Support Project Management teams in determining claims and contract management strategies, preparing and evaluating variation order requests, and drafting key project correspondence.
  8. Draft all related legal instruments and correspondence.
  9. Perform legal research, e.g., case law affecting Company market space.
  10. Assist in resolving legal and contractual matters, in coordination with relevant Corporate functions.
  11. Regularly report to the Company and Corporate Management on Contract Management activities.
  12. Knowledge and experience of English Law.
  13. Proven experience of reviewing and advising on tendering contracts and of administering project contracts and effective negotiation skills are essential.
  14. Proven experience negotiating and executing offshore construction contracts.
  15. Strong commercial awareness.
  16. International mobility for short missions and potentially for long-term assignments.
