Position Overview
As a Senior Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance within a leading organization in the Nuclear, Oil & Gas, and Construction sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the onsite HSE team, focusing on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across all operations.
- Provide strategic leadership, coaching, and guidance to the HSE team to foster a proactive safety culture.
- Support project managers by offering expert advice on all HSE-related matters.
- Ensure adherence to company and site safety protocols, maintaining exemplary health and safety standards.
- Promote a Safety First culture by delivering Toolbox Talks and safety training as necessary.
- Monitor and report HSE performance in alignment with regional regulations.
- Identify safety concerns and areas for enhancement, implementing initiatives to drive ongoing improvements.
- Plan and execute HSE audits, ensuring timely resolution of any identified issues.
- Encourage the submission of safety cards within the team, tracking all submissions and following up on actions with relevant managers.
- Maintain effective communication with project management, clients, and HSE representatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- NEBOSH and IOSH certifications.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior HSE position.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in the construction industry.
- Background in Nuclear, Oil & Gas, or other heavily regulated sectors.
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance.
