Procurement Specialist

Salary: £25,000-£28,000 per annum
Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday, days regular 37.5 hours a week, start time can be slightly flexible
We are recruiting a Junior Buyer to work for a company in Blackwood on a temp to perm basis.
Main Job Roles:- Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral part of the team supporting key functions within the department, including:
- Procurement and vendor management
- MRP scheduling and quality assurance
- New product development and driving improvement initiatives
- Maintaining excellent customer service levels and performing administrative duties
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach to the buying role, with strong team values and a track record of achieving cost-down benefits for the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Creating value for the business through effective negotiation of price, contract, and service level agreements
- Using strong commercial and analytical skills to drive improvement initiatives
- Maintaining excellent internal and external customer relationships
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Team player with strong work ethic and ability to adapt to and drive change
- Educated to degree level - CIPS preferably (or working towards)
- Supply chain or procurement experience
- IT literate with strong spreadsheet knowledge
- Experience working with MRP/ERP and SAP systems
- Experience working in a legislative environment and familiar with procedures/systems
