About the Role

The Scottish Prison Service is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and managing a diverse range of contracts in line with the Scottish Model of Procurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage contracts for goods, services, and works
  • Contribute to the effective operation of the procurement team through direct and indirect procurement activities
  • Provide a procurement service to internal stakeholder groups, including Estates & Technical Services, Operations Directorate, Digital Services, Human Resources, and Legal Services
  • Prepare tendering paperwork, develop tender evaluation matrices, and undertake contract reviews
  • Monitor and measure supplier performance, and explore opportunities for added value
Requirements
  • Qualified to degree level (or due to be qualified within the next 2 months) with a minimum 2:1
  • Experience of administration tasks, producing work in an office environment, and managing time effectively
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience of producing work under strict timescales and deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external parties, and within a team
