About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Structural Engineer to join our Plymouth Structures team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading structural engineering projects and working closely with clients to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead structural engineering projects from feasibility studies to scheme designs, detailed designs, assessments, inspections, and construction support.
  • Engage with clients to define requirements, present proposals, discuss project progress, and undertake presentation of project results.
  • Contribute to business development and effectively control commercial, managerial, and technical aspects of projects.
  • Undertake or lead a team of Engineers and Technicians in undertaking technically challenging projects without supervision.
  • Co-ordinate project delivery with internal and external clients.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable track record in the delivery of projects for clients or the ability to demonstrate significant contribution towards project delivery.
  • Ability to deliver design solutions, lead teams, and successfully manage projects.
  • A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a high commercial awareness.
  • Ability to obtain MOD security clearance and have a current driving license.
  • Knowledge of the Eurocode Standards and experience of working on heavy civil structural engineering projects.
Qualifications
  • Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered with the IStructE or ICE.
  • Background in software analysis and a high level of technical skills.
