Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to deliver an exceptional appointment scheduling service for various medical specialties, overseeing patient bookings, attendance, and admissions. This position plays a crucial role in managing capacity and proactively addressing any issues to ensure a positive experience for patients while adhering to contractual obligations.

Responsibilities include scheduling patient appointments in accordance with established policies, maintaining patient records to facilitate seamless clinic operations, and balancing general administrative tasks with specialized duties to enhance patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the referral process by contacting patients to confirm suitable appointment dates and times, ensuring alignment with patient preferences.

- Monitor capacity status using the Trust's systems, taking necessary actions to optimize appointment utilization.

- Manage appointment bookings, providing choices whenever feasible, and ensuring compliance with local and national waiting time standards.

- Handle cancellations and rescheduling of appointments and clinics, being mindful of national requirements and deadlines.

- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures while delivering an outpatient booking service that aligns with established access protocols.
