About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Electrician to work with our engineering team at the Port of Leith.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance, repair, and fault finding of various machinery and equipment within the Port, including forklift trucks, ship-to-shore cranes, industrial plant, lock gate infrastructure, and commercial vehicles.
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of plant equipment and associated drawings to minimize downtime during repairs.
  • Reporting any damage or misuse to supervisory staff and collaborating with operational staff to inform repair timescales.

Standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of alternative working patterns to suit candidates.

Requirements

We are seeking a time-served qualified Electrician with previous experience in a heavily industrialized environment. Knowledge of AC/DC control systems, PLCs, and HV/LV would be advantageous.

Candidates must be willing to work overtime as required, including evenings and weekends, and participate in the on-call rota. A full driving license, valid in the UK, is essential.
