Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Older Adult Clinical Psychology team in Flintshire. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist clinical input and support to the Memory Assessment Service (MAS) and the Older People's Community Mental Health Team (OPMH CMHT).

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering psychological and neuropsychological assessments, specialist pre and post-diagnostic counselling, psychological intervention, formulation, and group work. You will also facilitate indirect intervention through training, supervision, and team formulation, and attend clinical MDT, referral, business, and clinical leadership meetings. Additionally, you will provide supervision to junior psychologists, assistants, and trainees.

About the Role

This is a permanent 8a position, and the post-holder will work collaboratively with a range of multidisciplinary colleagues to provide high-quality care to our patients. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to integrate and collaborate with MDT colleagues, and a passion for helping others.

Requirements
  • DClinPsy Qualification (or equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those trained overseas)
  • Significant post-qualification experience within Older Adults
  • Experience of taking full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care, with experience of co-ordinating care within the context of multi-disciplinary care-planning
  • Experience of specialised psychological assessment and treatment of a range of clients across a wide range of care settings
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience of teaching, training, and/or supervision
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised psychological therapies
