About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our team at South Devon College. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support to staff and learners, ensuring that all High Needs Learners have access to the curriculum and achieve their study program goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to learners with High Needs, as outlined on their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans
  • Assist learners with daily living skills, such as personal care and mobility
  • Support learners with communication and social skills development
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and policies
Requirements
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/Level 4, or Level 2 equivalent, or be prepared to undertake qualifications within the first year of employment
  • Previous experience working in learning support or coaching
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Patient and approachable disposition
