About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our Board of Trustees as a Trustee for Environmental Management. As a key member of our governance team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of environmental competency worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Development: Contribute to the development of our long-term vision and strategic plans to promote environmental sustainability.
  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with our legal and constitutional frameworks, and provide oversight of our financial health.
  • Expertise and Guidance: Share your specialist skills and expertise in areas such as Commercial/Business Development, HR, Accounting and Finance, PR and Communications, Technology, or Market Intelligence (particularly in the water and environment sector).
  • Decision-Making: Participate in informed decision-making processes to drive strategic initiatives and promote environmental solutions.
Requirements
  • Passion for Environmental Issues: Demonstrate a genuine passion for environmental issues and a commitment to promoting sustainability.
  • Non-Executive Director Experience: Have experience serving as a non-executive director in a voluntary capacity.
  • Specialist Skills: Possess specialist skills in areas such as Commercial/Business Development, HR, Accounting and Finance, PR and Communications, Technology, or Market Intelligence (particularly in the water and environment sector).
  • Articulate and Informed: Be articulate, prepared to challenge assumptions, and capable of informed decision-making for the benefit of CIWEM and its members.
Commitment
  • Board Meetings: Attend up to 6 board meetings annually (in-person in London or the Midlands and online).
  • Strategy Review: Participate in a full-day strategy review meeting in person.
  • Committee Chairing: Potentially chair a committee.
  • CIWEM Events: Attend key CIWEM events and engage actively in communications and discussions.
