Position: Senior Psychiatric Consultant
Location: Birmingham
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluations of patients
- Develop complex case formulations and perform risk assessments
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to create effective treatment strategies
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to case discussions
- Apply clinical guidelines and treatment protocols effectively
- Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with established guidelines
- Advocate for evidence-based treatment approaches and foster teamwork
- Supervise the clinical performance of the team and enhance service delivery
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Specialist registration with the GMC and a valid license to practice
- In-depth knowledge of complications associated with eating disorders and their management
- Proven experience in both psychological and pharmacological treatment modalities
- Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- MRCPsych or an equivalent qualification
- Background in clinical research or medical education
