About the Role

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team as a Band 7 Sonographer. This is a permanent role that offers a competitive salary and opportunities for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ultrasound Service Delivery: Organize and provide high-quality ultrasound services within the Ultrasound Department, ensuring compliance with divisional standards and operational policies.
  • Reporting and Communication: Regularly undertake and provide comprehensive, independently written reports on a wide range of ultrasound examinations, drawing conclusions from findings and recommending further investigations. Communicate complex information directly with clinicians and patients within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patient Care and Consent: Provide clear explanations to patients regarding ultrasound examinations, including risks, benefits, accuracy, and limitations, to gain informed consent within an ethical and moral framework.
  • Quality and Compliance: Work within and adhere to standards and operational policies relating to the provision of a quality imaging service, ensuring that these standards are adhered to by more junior staff.
  • Protocol Development and Review: Contribute to evidence-based protocols and guidelines, investigating and advising the Superintendent Sonographer on inadequacies in a timely and appropriate manner.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: DCR or BSc (Hons) Radiography, registered with the HCPC, and CASE accreditation and/or DQASS registration.
  • Experience: Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams, with specialist expertise underpinned by theory and extensive practical experience in the range of ultrasound techniques required.
  • Additional Requirements: Full valid UK driving license and access to a car (ideally).
