Position Overview

Applicants must reside within the Rochdale Borough.

The Facilities Management team is seeking a dedicated Caretaker for Holy Family RC Primary School located in Kirkholt, Rochdale.

This role requires a commitment of 37 hours per week, with shifts scheduled from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM (Fridays until 9:00 AM) and 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Annual leave will be allocated during school holiday periods in accordance with the academic calendar.

Please be aware that working hours may be adjusted based on service requirements, and overtime may occasionally be necessary, compensated at the appropriate rate.

Candidate Profile

We are in search of a reliable, energetic individual with a strong work ethic and exceptional customer service abilities, capable of delivering high-quality support in a dynamic school environment.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness across designated areas, including restrooms, adhering to established cleaning protocols with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Possess practical skills for basic maintenance tasks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining flexibility.
  • Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Communicate effectively and build positive relationships with all members of the school community.
  • Have a solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Recognize the importance of maintaining a secure and safe environment, including record-keeping and compliance responsibilities.

Previous experience is essential; however, candidates with relevant skills and a positive attitude are encouraged to apply.

Employment in this position is contingent upon a successful enhanced DBS check, including a barred list check for the child workforce.

Individuals not selected for this role may be considered for casual caretaker or cleaner positions within Facilities Management.
