About the Role

As a Senior Data Solutions Architect at Jet2holidays, you'll have the opportunity to shape and develop data solutions across our organization. You'll become a domain expert within one of our key business initiatives, understanding its intricacies and building strong relationships with both technical and business teams.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on new projects from conception to implementation, defining high-level solutions and identifying technological needs.
  • Evaluate various technology options and conduct proof-of-concept demonstrations to support your architectural designs.
  • Contribute to our data architecture forum and wider architecture discussions, influencing technology choices and guiding the development of our overall logical architecture.
  • Work closely with architects across data and applications to ensure that solutions are simple, effective, and future-proof, placing data at the core of everything we do.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a technical role with extensive exposure to data, such as data architect, data engineer, data analyst, software engineer/tester, DevOps engineer, or data scientist.
  • A solution-oriented mindset combined with strong analytical and creative skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on experience in projects involving data solutions, including data delivery/management, data lakes, system integration, data migration, and data warehousing within cloud-based platforms.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling principles and the ability to design effective data structures for various applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern data solutions such as data lakes, data platforms, data streaming, and best practices for data security.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native computing concepts and experience with public hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • A genuine interest in emerging technologies, methodologies, and concepts within the data domain, such as data governance & management, data mesh, data vault 2.0, delta lake, DWH automation, and event streaming.
