We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate graduates to join our team of SEN Teaching Assistants at an OFSTED rated 'Outstanding' SEN school in Lichfield.

This is an excellent opportunity to apply your psychology background in a supportive, nurturing, and dynamic environment.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting individuals aged 7 to 18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, as well as autism and associated conditions to achieve educational success.

The school provides an individual learning plan which is tailored to meet the pupils' needs. The school has exceptional facilities such as food technology suites, music departments, sports hall and computer rooms with around 8 students per class.

Responsibilities:

  • Support individual students and small groups with tailored learning activities.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Provide emotional and social support, helping students to develop confidence and independence.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to adapt classroom activities and materials to meet the needs of all learners.

Requirements:

  • A Psychology Degree (or related field).
  • A genuine interest in working with children with SEN and a desire to make a positive impact.
  • An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a resilient mindset.
