Senior Planner

Job Summary

Zodiac Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join their Planning and Development team in Newcastle. As a Senior Planner, you will lead projects, develop strategic plans, and engage with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans and policies for urban development projects.
  • Manage and oversee planning projects from inception to completion.
  • Engage with stakeholders including local communities, government agencies, and developers.
  • Review, update, and develop planning policies and regulations.
  • Analyse demographic, economic, and environmental data to inform planning decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability principles. Organise and facilitate public consultations and hearings.
  • Lead and mentor junior planning staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Architecture, or related field.
  • Chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute Strong knowledge of planning laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Leadership abilities with a collaborative and adaptable approach.
