About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineering Chargehand to join our team at our Herreschoff Kiln plant. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading a small team and taking ownership of site maintenance day-to-day, maximising plant and equipment availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance
  • Fault finding, diagnostic, and installation work
  • Calibrate and diagnose faults on instrumentation systems
  • Carry out risk assessments and ensure all work areas are clean and free from hazards
  • Ordering site spares
  • Working from height and in confined spaces

Requirements
  • Background from within a production/heavy industrial environment with mechanical and electrical experience of fixed processing plant and equipment
  • Experience of working with/on pumps, welding, mills, burners/furnaces/gas, intrusive chemical work, and centrifuges is essential
  • Apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical engineering (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Strong HSE ethos
  • Proficient in the use of IT
  • Ability to work without supervision, organise, and prioritise tasks
  • Legally able to drive in the UK
