About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our team at Just Recruitment Group Ltd. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our transport business, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and maximizing revenue.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and monitor the fleet of over 80 trucks and 100 trailers, ensuring compliance with all regulations and maximizing efficiency.
- Oversee the planning and customer service teams, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Manage operational costs, ensuring the business meets financial goals and targets.
- Develop and implement effective working relationships with key stakeholders, promoting partnership working and improving operational efficiency.
- Implement and manage safe working practices, general housekeeping, and audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Monitor and program fleet maintenance, ensuring accurate records are kept and compliance with regulations.
- Manage driver behaviors, including monitoring vehicle and trailer usage, speed limits, and defect reporting.
- Manage customer service levels, on-boarding new customers, and ensuring sufficient sub-contractors to meet operational needs.
- Logistics qualification desirable
- Transport Managers Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) essential
- Working knowledge of the Highway Code, EU tachograph requirements, Working Time Regulations, and Road Transport Regulations
- Commercial and financial awareness
- Working knowledge of transport operation systems
- Geography of the UK and road networks
- Health and Safety regulations
- Relevant transport management experience
- Analyzing and solving logistic problems
