Role Overview
We are thrilled to present an opportunity to build and enhance a Cost Management division within JLL's Project & Development Services team. Our Birmingham office currently comprises a team of 5 Project Managers and 13 Building Surveyors. This distinctive role will receive guidance and support from our established and welcoming Cost Management teams located in other cities.
You should bring several years of post-qualification experience, having collaborated with diverse clients across various sectors, and possess expertise in managing projects of different scales. Your background may include overseeing key client projects and providing strategic advice to multidisciplinary teams while guiding client management and direction.

You will report to a director and will have the autonomy to manage projects from day one. Therefore, you must demonstrate experience with relevant projects and the ability to cultivate strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors. You will also be encouraged to contribute to bids and collaborate with other areas of the business. The ideal candidate will possess a technical and experience-driven background in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management. While MRICS accreditation is preferred, it is not mandatory for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
o Provide a Quantity Surveying presence within the JLL Office with the potential to expand your own team
o Conduct feasibility cost estimates and detailed cost plans
o Assess and communicate risks associated with design proposals
o Execute post-contract responsibilities, including payment processing, cost reporting, and contract administration
o Collaborate closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to optimize solutions
o Experience in project procurement and various available routes
o Identify opportunities for better purchasing, value management, and supply chain enhancements
o Collect data to support benchmarking and knowledge management
o Manage and nurture client relationships
o Lead business development efforts, both internally and externally
o Background in delivering appropriately scaled projects for occupier and investor clients
o Proven track record in providing high-quality services from inception to completion
o Demonstrate enthusiasm, proactivity, and self-motivation
o Possess excellent verbal, numerical, and report/proposal writing skills
o Adaptable and capable of meeting deadlines
o Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
o Willingness to integrate into a dynamic, engaged, and supportive team
o Recognize opportunities presented by collaborating with specialist property consultancy colleagues to identify new prospects
