Job Overview

Safeguarding Adults Clinical Nurse Specialist

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Safeguarding Adults team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a seamless specialist service to ensure patients receive the highest standard of clinical care.
  • Act as a lead specialist, providing specialist advice, education, and support to healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Undertake clinical audits and research within the specialist area to drive quality improvement.

Our Safeguarding Adults team is a dynamic and supportive environment that values collaboration and innovation. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to develop and implement policies, protocols, and guidelines that promote dignity and human rights.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • BSC/1st degree (health-related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience.
    • Current First Level Nurse Registration on the NMC register or equivalent.
  • Desirable:
    • Postgraduate Safeguarding Adults study.
    • Mental Health qualification.
Key Skills and Knowledge
  • Ability to clinically lead and influence staff.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act.
Experience
  • Extensive experience of working autonomously at an advanced level within the specialist area delivering effective patient-focused care.
  • Proven evidence of management/leadership skills and autonomous practice.
  • Experience of delivering patient advocacy.
