Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team at Rydon Group Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in managing costs for our responsive and planned housing maintenance and repairs contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in obtaining and evaluating cost information from each of our Housing Repairs contracts.
  • Work with our quantity surveying team to ensure a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials, and services is achieved.
  • Identify cost anomalies in directly delivered and subcontracted works using the NHF Schedule of Rates.
  • Timely purchasing and negotiating Sub Contract, Material, and Plant orders.
  • Ensure Subcontractors and Suppliers meet company standards prior to procurement.
  • Paying and monitoring Subcontractor progress.
Requirements:
  • Strong MS Office packages experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build excellent relationships both internally and externally with our clients and sub-contractors.
  • Experience gained within a housing maintenance environment (reactive/responsive repairs, cyclical, and/or lifecycle repairs).
  • SOR (Schedule of Rates) experience would be beneficial.
