About Babington House...
Located in a historic Grade II-listed manor dating back to 1705, Babington House is set within 18 acres of picturesque English countryside in Somerset. It offers a serene escape just 30 minutes from Bath, featuring 33 bedrooms across various historic structures, cabins, and lodges. The club includes a formal dining area in the Orangery, presenting a unique menu focused on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Role Overview...
We are looking for several skilled Service Runners to join our team at Babington House. Your primary duty will be to support the waiting staff, ensuring that members receive an exceptional experience. You will be responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen and drinks orders from the bar to members' tables, serving as a vital link between the kitchen/bar and the dining area. Additional tasks include preparing tables for service.
Qualifications for a Service Runner...
- 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced, high-profile dining establishment (preferred but not mandatory)
- A collaborative team player with strong communication skills
- Punctual, dependable, and trustworthy
- A sense of urgency in completing tasks
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- A genuine enthusiasm for food and beverage
- Flexibility to work both opening and closing shifts as needed
Expected Working Hours for a Service Runner:
- Shifts will vary throughout the week, including evenings and weekends
- Average weekly hours range from 32 to 45
Travel Considerations: Approximately 30 minutes from Bath, 50 minutes from Bristol, and 10 minutes from Frome (limited local transport from Frome)
