About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Nurse to join our Respiratory team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Respiratory Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with respiratory conditions, including those requiring interventions such as Bi-Pap and Optiflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based clinical care to patients with respiratory conditions, in line with Trust values and professional regulations.
- Work collaboratively with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to provide holistic patient care, including working alongside physiotherapists to optimize patient outcomes.
- Act as a role model, communicating effectively with patients, carers, and staff to promote a positive and supportive environment.
- Take responsibility for delegated patients and their care needs, working closely with colleagues to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of respiratory care pathways and protocols, ensuring best practice is upheld.
Person Specification
- NMC registration and a valid NMC PIN.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a respiratory care setting, with knowledge of respiratory conditions and their treatments.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education in respiratory care.
