About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Energy Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and refining our short-term energy market forecasting models. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing valuable insights to our clients, helping them make informed decisions in the ever-evolving energy landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge data science forecasts for short-term energy markets, initially focusing on Great Britain and expanding across Europe.
  • Enhance and maintain our existing forecasting suite by collaborating closely with clients to understand their specific needs and challenges.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and clients, translating complex data insights into actionable recommendations for traders with varying levels of technical proficiency.
  • Contribute actively to the Coding Team, working alongside energy full-stack developers and consultants to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning, data science techniques, and industry trends.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in Python, including experience with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow and scikit-learn.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the energy sector, specializing in short-term power market forecasting.
  • Familiarity with GitHub or Azure DevOps is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of SQL is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • A strong analytical mindset and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Bachelor's degree in a numerical or computer science field; other backgrounds will be considered.
