About the Company:

Fortus Recruitment specializes in providing tailored recruitment solutions, connecting skilled candidates with prominent organizations across the industry. We focus on sourcing talent from executive to operative levels and are currently collaborating with a Housing Association seeking a Working Foreman in the Isle Of Wight area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a range of carpentry repairs in both occupied and vacant residential properties, as well as corporate and civic structures.
  • Tasks may include the installation of various door types (including fire doors), first and second fix carpentry, kitchen fittings, DFG adaptations, ceramic wall tiling, minor plumbing, and decorative tasks.
  • Support the contract by managing site operations for quoted/project works, performing operative observations to ensure health and safety compliance and quality standards, and conducting equipment inspections.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to assist in ongoing job evaluations and sourcing of materials.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of trade experience, preferably in residential repairs and project management.
  • Experience in overseeing maintenance, repairs, and planned works.
  • Preferred experience in UPVC repairs and maintenance (doors and windows).
  • Proficient in kitchen and/or bathroom installations – both first and second fix.
  • Knowledge of fire-door installation and relevant regulations.
  • Demonstrated competence in your area of expertise.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and Outlook is desirable.
  • Possession of a trade-specific qualification, at least NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Carpentry.
  • Must be proficient in at least two additional secondary skills.
  • Valid full driving license required.
  • A DBS check will be necessary prior to starting the role.
