Naval Architect (Special Projects)

Are you a skilled Naval Architect or similar from a Marine background looking for an autonomous and technical role working on cutting-edge global projects within a multi-million turnover Marine company that offers a great working environment and ongoing opportunities for progression?

About the Role

  • Assess project requirements and research the feasibility of new technology to enhance vessel design and operations.
  • Engage with onshore and onsite teams to support project needs and collaborate with clients to deliver high-quality results.
  • Participate in the tender process for client awards, construction awards, and input to project budgets, timescales, and specifications as required.
  • Produce detailed drawings using AutoCAD and other software suites as requested by clients.
  • Maintain key relationships with design partner organizations and collaborate with the Supply Chain manager to select equipment and implement systems.
  • Review, input, and develop test procedures, including computer modeling and scale models, to analyze data and test results.
  • Work with the Special Projects function and Environmental SMEs to identify solutions to technical and operational challenges and input to vessel repairs.
  • Conduct relevant research linked to the adoption of technology, alternative fuels, and the decarbonization strategy.

About You

  • Naval Architect with a relevant educational background and experience in Marine design and architecture.
