Credit Controller

Cleveland Cable Co Ltd is seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join our team in Middlesbrough. As a key member of our Credit Control Team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customers, ensuring timely payments, and resolving any disputes or issues that may arise.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor customer payments and contact those who are in default to obtain immediate payment or a committed payment date.
- Record all conversations and correspondence with customers, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Identify and report any detrimental changes in customer behavior that may impact cash flow.
- Work closely with the team to resolve any disputes or issues that may impact customer payments.
- Assist in the preparation and issue of 7-Day letters to customers who have not made payment.
- Remove barriers to non-payment by reacting promptly and efficiently to requests for additional information and documentation.
- Liaise with customers to ensure all relevant invoices and paperwork have been received.
- Contribute to the smooth running of the department and team by ensuring any problems or issues are brought to the attention of the Team Supervisor and Manager.
- Performance against individual, team, and departmental KPIs and other targets.
- Prompt and accurate record-keeping.
- The transactional integrity of specific sales ledger accounts, including the timely and accurate resolution of unallocated cash.
- The prompt identification and referral of credit risk issues.
- The prompt identification and referral of unresolved queries that are holding up payments.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize workloads within a fast-moving environment.
- Strong negotiating skills; able to speak confidently to people at all levels.
- Persuasive; able to achieve results by influencing the actions of others.
- Ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy.
- Computer literate - good working knowledge of a variety of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Dynamics etc).
