Position Overview:

Maintenance Technician

Location: Market Drayton Yogurt and Desserts

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday: 8AM - 4PM

Salary: £43,180 per annum, with paid overtime at 1.5 times the base rate

Incentive: £5,000 signing bonus for successful Multi-Skilled candidates (subject to terms and conditions)

Due to internal advancement, we are seeking a Maintenance Technician to become a part of our Market Drayton Dairy in the Repack & Warehouse division. The Maintenance Technician's primary role is to ensure that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards and optimized to achieve efficiency targets during shifts, while providing exceptional service regarding filling machines or process plants.

Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:

  • Maintain and enhance all plant, processes, and assets to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability
  • Perform daily maintenance and improvements on plant, assets, and services
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety standards
  • Complete planned preventive maintenance tasks and develop improved maintenance practices
  • Diagnose and repair equipment faults promptly to ensure smooth operation of the Engineering Request System
  • Actively promote health and safety initiatives
  • Diagnose faults and conduct testing, repairs, and maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Identify, report, and document machinery or component defects or signs of potential failure, providing data for the CMMS
  • Engage with OEMs and other suppliers for technical support as needed and expedite parts when unavailable on site

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Extensive experience as a multiskilled engineer in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing or logistics environment
  • Proficiency in mechanical and electrical engineering within manufacturing, production, and process settings
  • HNC or equivalent apprenticeship training with experience in fast-moving machinery, pumps, valves, and PLCs
  • Familiarity with complex, fast-moving clean environments (24/7 - short shelf-life products)
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques
  • Effective communication skills
