Role Overview

The Financial Reporting Specialist will play a crucial role within the Finance Department, focusing on the preparation and delivery of accurate management accounts. This position requires a proactive individual who is comfortable with both foundational tasks and more complex financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end process of creating management accounts and the accompanying reporting package.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
  • Oversee stock reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Prepare monthly accruals and prepayments.
  • Maintain the fixed assets register and manage depreciation entries.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing for year-end audits.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts.
  • Support rolling profit and loss forecasting, including working capital models.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecasts.
  • Facilitate rolling cash flow forecasts.
  • Engage in business partnering activities.
  • Support the Finance Controller and mentor junior staff, as well as assist the transactional team as needed.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified or finalist in ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Experience in online retail is a plus.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly with BI/MI tools and advanced Excel modeling.
  • Strong grasp of financial planning and analysis, working capital, and cash flow models.
  • Exceptional organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage with colleagues.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative.
  • Experience in a fast-paced SME environment is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years in a similar financial role.
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
