Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Support Officer to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our cancer support workers and the wider personalised care and support service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the administration relating to patient health and wellbeing events
  • Support the management team with line management administration, meeting minutes, data collection, and other required administration
  • Act as a point of contact for cancer support workers and assist them with day-to-day management of their workload
  • Work with hospital systems, including CareFlow and Bristol Cancer Register
  • Collect and present data from support worker activities, including patient contacts and holistic needs assessments
  • Manage invitations and room bookings for health and wellbeing events
  • Support the management team with team administration as required
  • Take minutes for appropriate meetings
  • Escalate patient/staff queries, capacity problems, and general issues to line manager or relevant staff as appropriate
  • Ensure speciality-specific documentation is completed and filed appropriately
  • Carry out associated clerical duties, including maintaining accurate filing systems, receiving post, diary management, and scanning patient notes if required

Person Specification
  • Clerical or administrative experience
  • Experience of communicating with people via telephone and email
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or public setting (desirable)
  • Understanding of medical terminology (desirable)

  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy
