Due to a recent organizational restructure, we are excited to announce an opportunity to join our newly formed Transportation Engineering team. In this role, you will collaborate with various partners, customers, and clients to deliver a professional service that optimizes resources and achieves positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a diverse range of traffic management and parking initiatives.
  • Support the Council's development management processes to fulfill The Plan for North Lanarkshire and ensure best value.
  • Assess Planning Applications and Transport Assessments, as well as process Construction Consent applications.
  • Conduct road safety studies, including data trend analysis, accident investigations, and preliminary design of suitable engineering solutions.
  • Engage in client liaison and consult with key partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

The ideal candidate will possess an HNC in a relevant field, with a preference for an HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. You should have substantial knowledge and experience in Transportation Engineering, demonstrating a self-motivated, flexible, and collaborative work ethic. The ability to manage multiple demands while adhering to tight deadlines is essential.

Strong organizational and IT skills are crucial, with proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications. You should be an effective communicator, both written and verbal, capable of analyzing information and producing comprehensive reports, as well as presenting findings in public forums.

Joining our dynamic and adaptable team within Infrastructure and Transportation means engaging in an agile work model that combines home-working and office-based responsibilities across North Lanarkshire. Travel throughout North Lanarkshire and the Glasgow City Region will be required to fulfill the duties of this position.

Eligibility Requirement: A current UK driving licence is mandatory for this role.
