About The Role

We are seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join our team at The Telegraph, where you will play a key role in creating engaging and informative visual content for our readers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and illustrate graphic components such as charts, diagrams, maps, and graphics to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Analyse and edit data to form compelling visual narratives, combining good typography and design principles to create engaging information graphics and data visualizations.
  • Contribute ideas and creative input into the production of visual journalism at The Telegraph, working closely with journalists, researchers, editors, designers, and developers.
  • Output work for both The Telegraph's print and digital platforms, ensuring consistency and high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to establish better work methods and develop a more efficient workflow.
Key Skills
  • Proven ability in producing compelling and creative visual journalism.
  • A strong portfolio that showcases your skills in graphic design, data visualization, and storytelling.
  • Proficient in the latest graphics software, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Ability to interpret briefs and handle research data effectively, formatting in spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Good communication and collaborative methods, with an eager sense to contribute to the team's success.
