Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team in Portsmouth. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the delivery of projects and management of project performance for the Southern Water framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project liaison from enquiry stage to final acceptance and documentation, meeting with clients as required to discuss specific requirements and carry out site surveys as needed.
  2. Instructing, directing, controlling, and allocating work to trade operatives and apprentices, with attention to quality, productivity, and safety.
  3. Completion of contract documents.
  4. Management of project quality deliverables and procedures ensuring compliance with internal and client quality systems.
  5. Subcontractor liaison, management, including tender specification, quotation, and H&S documentation review and appraisal.
  6. Preparation of construction phase health and safety plans for projects with principal contractor responsibility under CDM.
Requirements:
  1. Qualification to degree/HND/HNC in engineering or equivalent.
  2. Proven track record in project management, with an engineering or supervisory background.
  3. Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to all engineering trades, particularly mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering.
  4. Full UK driving license.
