Position Overview

Sapiens UK is actively seeking a Functional Architect to deliver comprehensive support for R&D and project initiatives. Candidates with over 5 years of experience in a functional architect role within life insurance or pensions systems are encouraged to consider this opportunity.

A solid understanding of policy administration systems is crucial for success in this position, as you will be responsible for designing enhancements and crafting solutions within our esteemed Life & Pensions (L&P) system.

Work Model: Hybrid (Flexible)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the design of project end-to-end solutions, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive solutions for specific enhancements to policy administration systems.
  • Evaluate existing system functionalities to identify necessary enhancements and the optimal solutions to fulfill business needs.
  • Draft and/or review Requirements and Design Documentation.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all Requirements and Design Documents.
  • Act as a consultant during requirement and design workshops, both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with Lead BA/PD/PM on project-related actions, assumptions, risks, issues, decisions, and constraints.
  • Review Technical Design Specifications.
  • Support development teams throughout the project build phase.
  • Review test scripts and assist in testing during the testing phase.
  • Help define acceptance criteria and provide high-level estimates.
  • Adhere to Sapiens processes and best practices.
  • Provide clients with functional analysis, design advice, and consultancy throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage in peer review activities, collaborating with Business Analysts to ensure the quality and completeness of requirement and design work.
  • Configure or assist in configuring parameters that dictate the functionality outlined in design documentation.
  • Ensure that product material collateral is updated and well-presented.
  • Support training sessions on the system and its product offerings.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a functional architect in life and/or pensions and/or annuity systems.
  • Proven track record as a functional architect in integration projects, particularly with policy administration systems and integration platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of life and pension products and processes.
  • Ability to comprehend business requirements and devise implementable solutions.
  • Experience with database-based systems.
  • Demonstrated capability to work effectively within cross-functional and geographically diverse teams.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with SQL and Excel; experience with additional programming languages is a plus.

Desirable Skills:

  • Prior experience with life or pensions policy administration systems, digital platforms, and business intelligence is advantageous.
  • Experience in collaborative and agile working methodologies is a plus.
  • BSc in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in other European languages is a benefit.
