Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team of professionals working across schools in the Thornbury area.

The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as those with challenging behavior.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the class teacher to develop and implement individualized learning plans for children with SEND or SEMH needs.
  • Provide one-to-one support to children in lessons across the curriculum, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support children with challenging behavior, using strategies to de-escalate and manage incidents.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEND or SEMH needs, or relevant transferable skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, teachers, and parents.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a desire to learn and grow in the role.
