Position Overview: Teacheroo is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Strength and Conditioning Coach to collaborate with our sports coaching teams, focusing on the development and support of our student athletes. This role involves creating tailored training programs for various teams and athletes, guided by our Directors of Sport across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute strength training and conditioning programs for all athletic teams during in-season, off-season, and pre-season periods, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices.
  • Conduct S&C sessions early each morning, with dedicated time for administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the School Nurse and medical staff to assist in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured athletes.
  • Engage with Directors of Sports to coordinate lunchtime S&C activities, promoting continuity in training.
  • Foster collaborative relationships among sport coaches, PE staff, and academic personnel to enhance athlete support.
  • Establish and uphold policies and procedures for the strength and conditioning program, adhering to professional standards.
  • Implement systems for tracking athlete attendance and progress in partnership with sport coaches and administrative staff.
  • Conduct annual needs assessments for each sports team in collaboration with the Directors of Sports at the end of each season.
  • Review and update a departmental risk management plan on an annual basis.
  • Prepare an annual budget proposal for the program, covering maintenance, equipment purchases, and staffing requirements.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • A recognized degree in sports science or a related field, or extensive relevant experience.
  • Accreditation from a recognized body (e.g., IUSCA, UKSCA) or a commitment to pursue such qualifications.
  • Understanding of performance sport development, preferably within an educational context.
  • Experience in fitness and conditioning program design aimed at performance enhancement.
  • Proven experience in delivering S&C support to performance athletes, ideally in a school environment.
  • Ability to conduct needs analysis and field-based testing for athletes, providing tailored service delivery.
  • Experience collaborating with coaches and performance sport practitioners across various disciplines.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and planning capabilities.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused approach with strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of various sports science disciplines and key performance indicators.
  • A creative and innovative mindset towards athlete development.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to team growth.
  • Capability to manage conflicting demands independently.
