Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team at Pepco Group Corporate Office. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial records and ensuring the accuracy of our financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, expenses, and business banking.
  • Reconciliation and Analysis: Prepare regular reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the production of monthly management accounts, including actual vs. budget/forecast analysis for income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Financial Systems: Utilize FCCS (Group reporting consolidation tool) to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit Corporate VAT and Corporate Tax compliance.
  • Intercompany Balances: Maintain accurate intercompany balances and ensure alignment with other entities across the group.
  • Financial Controls: Prepare and implement key finance controls impacting the Corporate office entity.
  • Group Reporting: Prepare group reporting for Corporate Office entity and other small Group entities.
  • Statutory Audit: Support the annual statutory audit deliverables for the Corporate office entities and other small entities.
  • Cash Forecasting: Prepare weekly cash forecast and actual submissions to Group treasury.
  • Departmental Costs: Support the management of Corporate departmental costs by providing cost reports.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Recently Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or a candidate who is currently completing their qualification.
  • Experience: Experience working within a finance or auditing team, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Skills: Solid understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP accounting, experience working with financial systems (preferably Oracle Fusion), and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Structured, critical thinker who can work independently and self-sufficiently, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
