About the Role

Marmalade Game Studio is seeking a talented 2D Animator to join our award-winning games studio and contribute to the success of our games, including Monopoly, Cluedo, Game of Life, The Game of Life 2, and Jumanji: The Curse Returns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create high-quality 2D animations for our game engine, showcasing a range of art styles.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director and team to transform concepts into engaging animations.
  • Develop quality assets while maintaining creative vision and technical specifications.
  • Participate in design, technical, and artistic problem-solving, making autonomous creative decisions.
Requirements
  • Animator with a diverse showreel demonstrating artistic and technical skills in character animation, visual effects, motion graphics, and storytelling.
  • Excellent understanding of animation principles, including timing, key poses, squash and stretch, anticipation, follow-through, etc.
  • Proficiency in skeletal animation programs such as Spine and Unity, including mesh rig setup.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback from team members, art leads, and management.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality.
  • Ability to bring 2D concepts to life and extrapolate beyond existing art.
Desirable Skills
  • 3D animation skills and rigging.
  • Understanding of Unity and game development pipelines.
  • Professional animation experience in the game industry.
  • Version control software (Perforce, preferably).
  • Knowledge of other useful software (like Photoshop, Adobe Animate, After Effects, Blender, and Maya).
