Electronics Engineer Job Description

**Job Title:** Principal Electronics Engineer

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced Principal Electronics Engineer to join our team at Electus Recruitment Solutions. As a Principal Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of electronics for instrumentation and acoustics applications. You will work closely with the Director of Engineering to coordinate Electronics Engineering projects and tasks, and provide guidance to staff to ensure the engineering team completes project assignments on time and within budgets.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Lead the design and development of electronics for instrumentation and acoustics applications
* Coordinate Electronics Engineering projects and tasks with the Director of Engineering
* Provide guidance to staff to ensure project assignments are completed on time and within budgets
* Participate in risk assessments and mitigating activities
* Develop and provide technical standards and guidance in all software design and development

**Requirements:**

* BSc/BEng or equivalent experience in Engineering or similar
* Expertise in analogue and digital circuit design preferably in an instrumentation development environment
* Some experience or knowledge of microcontroller-based circuit design and embedded software essential
* IPC trained (training can be provided)
* OrCAD design software or experience with similar tools

**Nice to Have:**

* Knowledge of basic analog components and circuits
* Operational Amplifier circuits
* Power supply technology
* Circuit analysis, modelling, and theory
* Analog-Digital Conversion
* Interfacing and IO (e.g. I2C and SPI bus)
* CAD Schematic layout
* CAD PCB design
* Fault finding
* Assembler and/or embedded 'C'
* Use of PAL/FPGA technologies
* Linux and other OS
