Job Title: Health and Safety Advisor
Location: Remote or on-site opportunities available
Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000, dependent on experience
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at HSE Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees, clients, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and regularly review our company's Health and Safety policies, procedures, and compliance.
- Ensure all statutory obligations regarding health, safety, and welfare at work are met.
- Conduct and review risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits.
- Investigate and document accidents, implementing recommended improvements.
- Manage planned and ad hoc safety inspections, including field visits to sites and overseeing compliance with safety protocols.
- Stay updated with relevant health, safety, and welfare legislation and communicate changes.
- Consult with external H&S consultants for training and health and safety services as needed.
- Report on health and safety activities and participate in meetings on relevant safety matters.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong written and spoken communication skills with a supportive and approachable style.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Competence in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to simplify complex information and take initiative.
Qualifications and Training:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety.
- NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management.
- CSCS Card.
- SMSTS (desirable).
- Membership in IOSH/IIRSM.
