About the Position

As a pivotal member of the Communications & Marketing Leadership Team, the Director of Customer Expansion will spearhead initiatives for new business development, client retention, and revenue enhancement across the UCAS Media Education Sales division, while optimizing opportunities to sustain and enlarge the UCAS clientele.

The individual in this role will be responsible for collaborating with various teams to implement marketing strategies and product modifications, including pricing frameworks, while gaining insights into customer behaviors and industry trends. As a vital contributor to the Communications and Marketing Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Customer Expansion will aid in the overarching leadership and administration of UCAS Media.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Direction
• Develop, lead, and report on the sales strategy tailored for the education sectors and clientele. Enhance the performance of UCAS Media's existing business, identify and cultivate new educational clients, and provide guidance on innovative product prospects.

Business Growth
• Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within the education landscape.

Customer-Centric Approach
• Advocate for customer-focused sales methodologies.

Sales Oversight
• Collaborate with essential stakeholders across the organization to generate comprehensive product intelligence that drives sales.

Teamwork and Communication
• Partner closely with diverse teams to ensure a unified strategy for market entry and customer interaction.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience


• A commercially astute professional with extensive experience in a results-driven sales environment, managing budgets, and establishing revenue objectives at a senior level.

• Proven history of meeting and surpassing sales goals.


• Comprehensive understanding of sales strategies, methodologies, and tools.


• Significant experience in higher or further education settings.


• A dynamic and authentic leader with substantial experience in guiding multiple teams and fostering a high-performance sales culture.


• A strategic thinker who clarifies the connections between strategy and execution for the team.


• Extensive experience in formulating sales business plans and driving strategic initiatives.


• Demonstrable experience in implementing recognition and reward programs that promote high performance, target achievement, and desired behaviors.


• Ambitious and proactively seeks opportunities to innovate ideas and new propositions.


• Creative thinker, exploring new and inventive methods to stimulate growth across various accounts.


• Inquisitive with a continuous learning mindset, actively seeking opportunities to understand more about UCAS customers, the marketplace, and potential new ventures.

Compensation Package

Salary - £85,000
