Job Summary

Bournes is seeking a skilled HGV Driver to join our team. As a key member of our removals crew, you will be responsible for driving our vehicles and supporting our team with removals duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive our vehicles to designated addresses and support the crew with removals duties, including packing, loading, and unloading.
  • Be physically fit to pack, carry, load/unload the vehicle, and dismantle/reassemble furniture.
  • Work unsocial hours, including nights away, and hold a valid passport for European moves.
  • Behave professionally and have strong communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues.
  • Be reliable, flexible, and punctual, as move day schedules are critical.
  • Complete removals paperwork accurately and submit it on time.
  • Maintain regular communication with the office and wear company uniform at all times.
  • Use your own transport to depart from and return to the local depot.

Driving Requirements

  • Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects to the office.
  • Ensure loads are safely secured and there is no risk of waste or debris falling from the vehicle or trailer.
  • Load and unload the vehicle safely and complete risk assessments as required.
  • Fuel the vehicle and maintain it in a clean and safe condition.
  • Present the Tachograph card for downloading on a weekly basis.
  • Report accidents and incidents immediately to the Transport Manager.
  • Comply with all company, UK, and European safety and driving regulations.
  • Provide proof of DCPC.
