Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Estate Management Professional to join our team at Marks Consulting Partners. As an Estate Management Professional, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on property valuation, management, and acquisition/disposal strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist advice to colleagues, customers, and internal departments on interpreting and applying policies and technical principles, assessing risks and benefits, and ensuring policy proposals are developed.
  • Negotiate terms and charges with statutory authorities and other bodies for easements, wayleaves, licenses, and rights of way affecting land in the ownership of the council.
  • Conduct marketing and negotiations for the sale or lease of council properties and provide valuation reports if required for property transactions, feasibility studies, land estimates, and asset valuation purposes.
  • Prepare reports on a range of technical issues, ensuring these meet regulations, codes of practice, and Council guidelines and meet budget.
Requirements
  • Degree in Estate Management or relevant field, or Membership of the Chartered Surveyors General Practise Division/RICS.
  • Relevant practical experience, backed by evidence of planning work activities within professional guidelines and have the appropriate specialist knowledge.
  • Awareness of local government property practices and procedures.
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Effective IT skills and working knowledge of databases, spreadsheet packages. Ideally experience of MapInfo (although training will be given if needed).
  • Excellent communication skills with good persuasion and influencing skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.
