The Business Intake Analyst Role

Purpose of the Role: The Firm is enhancing its Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crime Compliance team and is recruiting an analyst to support the team.

The Department: Risk Management Services

Reporting to: Regional Risk Management & AML Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting client due diligence research in accordance with relevant AML regulations to facilitate the identification and verification of new clients for all European offices, Dubai, Japan, and Singapore.
  • Risk review and assessment of new clients and matters.
  • Escalating as appropriate new clients and/or matters for further review by a risk management lawyer.
  • Liaising with Risk Management Services and partner approvers to manage the business intake process.
  • Reviewing the content of matter opening and other business intake documentation for accuracy.
  • Providing support to fee-earners and secretaries with business intake-related queries.
  • Assisting the AML Manager in other duties, such as maintenance of risk management materials.
  • Tracking business intake processes.
Requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel. Good accuracy, typing speed, and attention to detail.

Relevant experience in a legal or financial services business and familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering legislation.

Familiarity or ability to become proficient with online research services.

High level of comfort working with a variety of IT software packages.

Flexible and enthusiastic approach to teamwork.

Strong research and analytical skills – ability to source and review documentation and provide clear analysis of results.

Good, articulate communication skills.
