Job Overview

SSQ is seeking a seasoned legal professional to lead the growth and development of their legal consulting business as the Chief Legal Officer.

This role is designed for a highly experienced legal director, general counsel, or legal generalist with a passion for entrepreneurship, networking, and business leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the business unit's team, overseeing budgeting, reporting, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Cultivate client relationships, delivering straightforward legal advice and guidance.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of business strategies to drive growth and expansion.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and challenges, providing tailored legal solutions.
  • Manage and oversee the legal team's workload, ensuring timely and effective delivery of services.

Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales, with a minimum of 10+ years post-qualification experience.
  • Extensive expertise in commercial law, ideally focused on the small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) market.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand clients' business needs and challenges.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal professionals.

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will be required to work in the office 4 days a week, with the ability to commute to north London on a daily basis.
